AWARD INFORMATION

The awards for Best Unsigned Game (Professional) and Best Unsigned Game (Indie) are determined by popular vote by GCAP delegates at Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 16-17 November 2007.

Games short-listed for these categories (and for display at the Expo) will be selected from standard Award nominations.

All delegates who attend the Game Connect: Asia Pacific 07 Conference will have the chance to test the games and submit their vote on a numbered ballot paper provided in the conference satchel.

Categories

Best Unsigned Game (Indie)

Decision


Determined by popular vote by GCAP delegates at Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 16-17 November 2007.

Eligibility Criteria


Only games developed in Australia and New Zealand are eligible.
Games must be unreleased and unconnected with a publisher as at 31
October 2007.
To be eligible for the Indie category, the developers must not have received significant funding or payment for the production of the game.
Selection committee members shall have no pecuniary or other interest in a nominee, or if so will disclose this interest and abstain from any votes.
Nominations can be made by any resident of Australia / New Zealand.

Nominations


Developers must submit 3 copies of games and any accompanying materials, all clearly labelled, to the GDAA office by COB Friday 26 October 2007.
Entries will not be returned.

Selection


A total of five (5) games will be selected for exhibition at the conference, including three (3) games in the Indie category and two (2) games in the Professional category. These numbers may vary at the Selection Committee’s discretion based on the number and quality of nominations received.
The Selection Committee will notify developers of their decision on Friday 9th November 2007.

Exhibition


All games short listed for eligibility in the categories of Award for Best Unsigned Game (Professional) or Award for Best Unsigned Game (Indie) will be on display during the conference.
All nominees must be willing to supply and set up their own computer hardware and software for demonstration in the Trade Expo area from Friday 16 November to Saturday 17 November 2007.
A maximum of two (2) computers are allowed per team and a maximum of one (1) trestle table and two (2) chairs will be provided.
We recommend that equipment be supervised at all times.
Entries for this category which are not in a playable format at the commencement of the GCAP Expo on Friday 16 November 2007 will not be accepted.
Set up time is from 1600-1800 hours, Thursday 15 November and 0800-0930 hours, 16 November 2007.
Pack down time is from 1400-1530 hours, Saturday 17 November 2007.
The GCAP Conference will not be liable for the loss, theft or damage of any equipment.
