The Game Developers’ Association of Australia (GDAA), convenor of the Game Connect: Asia Pacific (GCAP) 2008 Conference & Expo in Australia, is now seeking abstract submissions from leading industry members of the games, IT, interactive entertainment, and film and sound industries.
The event’s primary focus is the improvement and advancement of the region’s game developers, including Australia, New Zealand and the Asian territories (primarily Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, China, Hong Kong Vietnam, Philippines and New Zealand).
"The new game developer and publisher-focused GCAP 08 program will address topics and trends of the Asia Pacific game industry," said Mike McNabb, Chairman of GCAP 08 and COO of the GDAA.
Call for Abstracts
Abstracts are now being called for Game Connect: Asia Pacific (GCAP) 2008.
Some of the main topics of GCAP will be online, mobile and casual games, serious games, along with technological developments including latest server technologies. GDAA is also looking for presentations and workshops in the fields of:
- Online, mobile and casual games;
- Serious Games in Defence, Health, Education and Simulation;
- Technological developments;
- Game Development;
- Writing and Scripting;
- Project Management;
- Business Modelling and Marketing;
- Finance and Investment;
- Skills and Recruitment.
TIMELINE
Deadline for submission of abstracts: Tuesday 8 July 2008
Authors advised of abstract acceptance: Tuesday 19 August 2008
Deadline for early bird registration Tuesday 30 September 2008
If you are interested in presenting at the conference please follow the submission guidelines below. Your submission will then be reviewed by the program committee and should you be successful you will be allocated a session according to the content and success of your submission after your official confirmation. |

Abstract Requirements
Abstracts of no more than 300 words may be submitted by clicking the ‘Abstract Submission’ button above. The Program Committee will evaluate all abstracts for inclusion in the Conference Program. When submitting you abstract you will be asked to include the following:
- Title of Presentation
- Author/s and affiliations
- Presenter’s name – indicated by underlining
- Presenter’s postal and email addresses, phone and fax numbers
- Topic (as outlined above)
- 300 word Abstract
