Game Connect: Asia Pacific wishes to thank the following organisations for sponsoring this years event:
Victorian Government
As the home to more than half of the Australian computer game development industry and the base for some of Australia’s largest computer games companies, such as IR Gurus, Tantalus and Torus games Victoria is the hub of electronic game development in Australasia. The Victorian Government supports the local game development industry through innovative initiatives such as providing Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox 360 development kits to local developers and providing grants for local games developers to attend overseas trade shows. Film Victoria provides funding to Victorian game companies to develop prototypes of their ideas, and supports professional development and business growth. Through these funding programs Film Victoria provides opportunities for game developers to collaborate with filmmakers and work across all facets of the screen industry. Victoria also houses Australia’s largest motion capture facility at Deakin University. When you combine this support from the State Government along with Victoria’s advanced infrastructure and large skills base, it is easy to see why Wired magazine has rated Melbourne as a “global gaming hotspot.”
Sony - Playstation
